On June 11th 2016 Tbilisi hosted event of exclusive startup competition Seedstarstbilisi, at Tech Park Georgia.

Seedstars World S.A. is the Swiss company, which conducts startup competitions in countries with developing and fast-growing economies.

Firs local event of Seedstars was organized by non-governmental organization Georgian Society of Investment Professionals (GSIP) and co-organized by Alliance Group Holding and Business Information Agency.

Twelve pitching startups presented their projects at final event and competed for title of the winner. Treepex - Green Loyalty Program was selected as the best Georgian seed-stage startup, which will represent Georgia and fight for main prize 500 000 USD equity investment in Switzerland.

2nd and 3rd runner-ups were Lingwing-a self-learning system for languages in the e-learning market and Mosavali, a platform for farmers in emerging markets with learning, decision support and interaction with the agricultural value chain.

The winner of Seedstarstbilisi 2016 was selected by local successful businessmen and invited international experts, including CEO at Alliance Group Holding and Business information Agency Mr. Aieti Kukava

Between two pitching sessions panel discussion had been arranged, jury members and invited experts discussed robust tech investment environment in Georgia.

Before the final event participant startups had an opportunity of attending mentorship sessions More than 50 startups reached Seedstarstbilisi startup competition

Seedstars will definitely come back in Georgia for 2017.Before that Treepex’s motto “Let’s make the world a bit greener” will reach to investors and emerging market startup enthusiasts in Switzerland.
